TUESDAY UPDATE ON COLOR OF PASSION #81
Sara is shocked to learn that Ricardo was telling the truth and Adriana was admitted to the hospital twice on the day she died. She asks the file clerk if she can stay with the first page of the file and he goes to make a copy.
In Casa Gaxiola, Rebeca answers a call from Normita who tells her that Amador presented himself in the factory and it looks like he has returned to work because he’s made a lot of calls. Rebeca orders her to kick him out but Normita has no one who can do it as Nazario hasn’t arrived and Marcelo was fired. She offers to kick him out herself. As she’s leaving, Tere walks in and asks Rebeca if she can clean her room. She tells her she can and leaves. Tere starts to vacuum on top and under the dresser when she sucks in the Plot Earring. The vacuum immediately stops and Tere curses the machine.
Sara is leaving the hospital and asks Let for Ricardo’s number.
Lalo tells Marcelo and Nazario that Amador strutted into the factory like he was the owner and he went into his office. Marcelo tries to talk to him but Nazario stops him. He tells him that he shouldn’t do it but Marcelo tells him that he has to grab the bull by the horns and leaves. Lalo asks Nazario if he thinks Amador is back to stay and Nazario hopes he isn’t.
Inside, Marcelo runs into Normita, who informs him that Alonso died before he could sign the authorization for a contract, and she has no idea what to do. Marcelo offers to look it over in a while so that Amador doesn’t have to look at it. He then asks if Amador is in his office and Normita answers that he at least had the courtesy to not occupy Alonso’s old office but she already called Rebeca to deal with the situation since she doesn’t think Lucia is up to it. Marcelo thanks her and goes to look for Amador.
Amador is making a call, with the biggest smile he can muster, when Marcelo walls in and rips the phone cord off the wall. Amador asks him who he thinks he is and Marcelo tells him to grabs all his crap and leave. Amador smiles and tells him that the only owner of the factory alive today is him and he asks that Marcelo leave. Marcelo warns that he shouldn’t count his lucky stars just yet. Amador tells him that even if he marries Alonso’s favorite daughter he will never be anyone of power in the factory. Marcelo wonders what the Gaxiola women will say of his power play and Amador tells him that they’ll thank him. Marcelo tells him that he will have to see about that and leaves.
Nora walks into Lucia’s room and tells her that she misses Alonso. Lucia agrees and they both comment on the fact that it feels like years since he’s died. Nora tells her that she probably won’t live in the house because everything reminds them of him but Lucia tells her that eventually the pain will go away and they’ll only remember him fondly. Nora tells her that it’s easy for her since she’ll leave and get married but Lucia explains that she won’t get married anymore. Nora asks her what happened with Marcelo and Lucia tells her that she’s in no shape for a relationship right now. Lucia then hugs Nora’s hand and goes to stand up. When she does, she falls back on the bed, dizzy. Nora asks her if she’s okay and Lucia tells her it’s probably that she hasn’t eaten and asks for her crutches. Nora gives them to her and Lucia leaves.
Sara goes to visit Ricardo and asks that he please tell her exactly what he told Alonso about the day Adriana died. Sara asks him if he really thinks Rebeca killed Adriana. Ricardo explains that, while he has no proof, Adriana found out he left Magdalena for Rebeca and, curiously, that same day she died without telling anyone and afterwards Rebeca married Alonso and kept everything Adriana had. Sara agrees that the sequence of events is very suspicious. Ricardo asks Sara why she wants to know what happened so badly and Sara explains that she found the proof that he was telling the truth about Adriana being admitted twice. Ricardo thanks her for finally giving him a vote of confidence. Sara goes to leave and Ricardo warns her to be careful with Rebeca and shows her his stab wound. Sara thanks him and leaves as Daniela arrives.
Daniela asks Ricardo who she is and Ricardo answers that it’s his daughter’s mother. Daniela asks him what she was doing there and Ricardo tells her that she came to ask him why he visited Leti and she knows the rest of the story.
Outside, Sara quickly leaves the apartment as the man who’s been watching Ricardo waits outside, reading the newspaper.
Amador is in his office when Rebeca arrives and screams for him to leave. Amador tells her to calm down because he’s there to help her. She has no idea how to run the factory and needs his help. Rebeca tells him that she doesn’t want him there because Alonso didn’t want him there and he’s just taking advantage of the fact that he died before he could dissolve their partnership. Amador comments that Alonso’s death was convenient for both of them because he wasn’t able to divorce her either. Rebeca tells him to not compare the situation and goes to leave but Amador has a question for her: is it true that Alonso was completely alone when he died? This gets Rebeca nervous and Amador explains that Lucia told him Alonso was alone that the same time she was with Brigida, who told him she arrived suddenly and very agitated to apologize for something inconsequential. Rebeca doesn’t know what he’s insinuating but she’s going to call the cops if he doesn’t leave. Amador tells her that he can also call the cops because they don’t know if Alonso call her out of his will since they were getting divorced. Rebeca tells him that they will soon see who owns what and Amador tells her that they can make a good team and she should think about it. Rebeca leaves.
Outside, she runs into Marcelo who hopes that she put Amador in his place. Rebeca tells him that he shouldn’t be there either since he was fired. Marcelo agrees but tells her that he’s not going to leave Lucia alone. Rebeca tells him that Lucia wants him out of his life and blames him for Alonso’s death. Marcelo tells her that he’s sure she spoke with Alonso before his death because he wouldn’t have died from knowing the kind of woman she was because he didn’t care about her. Something else happened and caused his heart attack. Rebeca reiterates that she wants him out or she’ll call the cops and Marcelo warns her that she won’t get away with Alonso’s death like she did with his brother’s. Rebeca leaves and slams the door in his face.
Tere empties the vacuum and finds plot earring as Nora comes out of her room and asks for Rebeca. Tere tells her she went out and then asks her what she’s doing with her earring. Tere tells her she found it in the vacuum and offers to return it to her mother’s room. The doorbell then rings and Nora goes to answer it. It’s Sara, who has come by to see how they’re doing. Nora wonders why she wasn’t in the funeral and Sara explains that Rebeca banned her from it. Sara then asks if Rebeca is in and asks if she can wait for her. Nora tells her that Rebeca wouldn’t like that and asks her to leave. Sara asks Nora to please let her stay, it’s important.
Leti wonders to herself why her mother would want to speak to her father when Sergio comes in and asks if she’s talking to herself. Leti tells him no and then Sergio tells her that Rodrigo told him that he saw her father with Loggia’s cousin, Daniela. Leti knew but also finds it strange. Sergio then wonders why she went out with Rodrigo and Leti explains that he’s changed a lot and he’s the first one to defend him. Sergio asks her if she’s interested in Rodrigo but Leti tells him she’s interested in someone else. Sergio then asks her if she’s going to leave the office and Leti asks him if he would like for her to leave. Sergio tells her no but then fumbles with his words as he stares into her eyes. The phone then rings and Leti answers; it’s Gloria asking for Sergio. This breaks the moment and Leti leaves in a huff while Sergio answers the call.
Rebeca arrives home and finds Sara waiting for her. Sara tells her that she needs to talk to her in private. Rebeca asks her to leave or she’ll kick her out by force but Sara warns her that that will only call attention to the situation and that’s not convenient for her. Rebeca asks her what she wants and Sara tells her that she has the proof that she had something to do with Adriana’s death. Rebeca is quiet and Sara comments on her sudden silence. Rebeca asks her to go to the study and slaps (drink!) Sara. She tells her that she has no idea what she’s talking about but she won’t stand for her warnings. Sara slaps (drink!) her back and tells her that she won’t stand for her insults anymore. She came to tell her she has proof that everything Ricardo said is true. Rebeca tells her that she’s surprised that she believed Ricardo’s story when he’s a known liar and Sara takes out the paper that proves Adriana was admitted twice. Rebeca tells her that she doesn’t care what she has to say because Ricardo wasn’t present when Adriana died and Sara tells her that Rebeca was though. Rebeca warns Sara that she doesn’t know what she’s capable of and she better be quiet about what she knows. Sara tells her that she needs more proof but she’s not scared of her warnings and when she knows the truth, she will tell everyone the kind of trash she is. Rebeca grabs Sara and kicks her out as Lucia witnesses everything.
Lucia tells her that she didn’t know she was there and Sara tells her that she laments everything that happened with her father. Lucia tells her she knows and she knows why she wasn’t at the funeral. Rebeca tells her that Sara is leaving but Lucia tells her that she can receive whomever she wants in her house. Sara tells Lucia that she was about to leave either and asks that Lucia take care of her. When she’s gone, Lucia asks why Sara was there and Rebeca explains that she came to tell her that Alonso did hating her. Rebeca then goes upstairs but not before telling Lucia that Marcelo is still in the city with no thought of leaving; he’s even in the factory giving orders. This seems to shake Lucia up.
Rebeca goes into her room and calls Mario. When he answers, she tells him that they need to open Alonso’s will as soon as possible. Mario tells her that they will as soon as the paperwork is done. Rebeca asks that he keep her up to date. Nora then knocks and Rebeca lets her in. She tells Rebeca that she let Sara in because she had something very important to tell her. She then asks Rebeca what she wanted and Rebeca tells her that she came to reprimand her for not letting her attend Alonso’s funeral. Rebeca then asks her how she’s doing and Nora tells her that she and Lucia aren’t feeling great. Nora then asks why Lucia ended things with Marcelo and Rebeca evades the questions as well and reiterates that Marcelo is not worth all the time she spending thinking about him.
Lucia calls Marcelo and asks why he’s still in Puebla and in the factory. She begs him not to make things harder and leave. Marcelo begs her to let him see her and while Lucia doesn’t want to, Marcelo insists.
Normita tells Nazario that she hasn’t been able to go inside Alonso’s office because it’s just so sad. Nazario tells her that time will make it better but asks that she not leave the factory again because Lucia needs them. Normita tells him that Marcelo is also there to support her but Rebeca can’t stand him. Nazario tells her that Marcelo and Rebeca have very different plans for the factory, that’s why she doesn’t want him to stay. Normita tells him that she heard them arguing earlier and found it strange that Marcelo told Rebeca that he lost his brother because of her and he won’t lose Lucia. Nazario asks that she not worry about it because it won’t be easy dealing with Rebeca from now on.
Magdalena laments that Alonso and Sara weren’t able to be together. Sara tells her that at least he’s reunited with Adriana, the only love of his life. Magdalena arrives but finds it sad he couldn’t be with her for long either. Sara then asks her how Adriana died and Magdalena explains that neither her nor Alonso were there when she had the accident and she passed away when Alonso arrived, after being in a coma for a few hours. Rebeca later explained that the stair railing was loose and when Adriana went to lean against it, it broke under her weight. Rebeca told them that she heard all the noise of the fall but wasn’t there when Adriana fell. She rushed her to the hospital immediately but the doctors could only save Lucia. Sara asks if Rebeca was alone in the house and Magdalena tells her that Clara, the servant, was there but she disappeared that same day after stealing from them. Clara resurfaced a few months ago at the same time as Trine’s death. Sara asks if Clara disappeared again and Magdalena confirms she did. She then asks why she asked her all this and Sara just finds it sad that Lucia is now an orphan. Magdalena agrees.
Lucia goes to the park and talks with Marcelo about his stubbornness in staying. Marcelo explains that she’s going to need all the help she can because the vultures are already circling the factory. Lucia tells him that she doesn’t care about that and asks that he please leave so she can forget him. Marcelo can’t believe that she really wants this. Lucia tells him that she still loves him but can’t be with him and Marcelo tells her that he won’t leave till he proves he had nothing with Alonso’s death. He finds it strange that the truth about Rebeca caused the heart attack. Lucia assures him that Rebeca didn’t see alone the day he died and has witnesses to back it up. Marcelo tells her that she must have come back sometime and she should look for the plot earring because he gave it to Alonso and he surely showed it to Rebeca as proof. Lucia asks him what he’s talking about and Marcelo explains that the earring she found along his things was next to Federico’s body when he died. Lucia explains that he gave it back to her and she put it in Rebeca’s room but Marcelo explains that he got it back when he…Lucia knows what he’s about to say so he spares her the details. He begs her to look for plot earring because if Rebeca has it then it proves she was the last person to see him alive. He then kisses her cheek and leaves.
That night, Brigida is talking with Ricardo when Amador arrives. She tells him that Ricardo has been waiting a while for him and leaves. Ricardo tells him that Brigida filled him in on the recent details while he waited, like the fact that he’s back at the factory because Alonso didn’t dissolve their partnership. Amador nods and then Ricardo asks for a job at the factory as his lawyer. Amador laughs because the Gaxiola women hate him but Ricardo counters that he owes him a lot including being his alibi when Ligia was murdered. Amador asks if Ricardo is blackmailing him and Ricardo asks him to take it as he likes but he would like a concrete answer on his offer soon.
Roman goes to visit Nora and asks if she’s going to return to therapy. Nora tells him that she hasn’t thought about it and Roman tells her that it’s really important for her to continue her treatment. Nora tells him that she would have to think about it more because everything has been going smooth with Rebeca and Lucia. She then tells him that Lucia isn’t going to marry Marcelo anymore as Lucia walks in. Roman greets her and Nora runs upstairs after promising to call him when she makes up her mind. Roman then goes to Lucia and asks her how she’s doing. Lucia tells him that she’s doing her best for now. Roman then asks Lucia to talk in private and they leave to the garden.
Outside, Lucia thanks Roman for visiting Nora. Roman tells her that Nora’s not sure about coming back to therapy but she’s calmer and her relationship with Lucia has gotten better; Lucia agrees. Roman hopes their relationship only gets better and warns her to keep an eye out as stressful situations can make Nora’s mental state worse. Roman then asks her if she did finish with Marcelo and Lucia tells him she did but begs him not to talk about the subject. Roman tells her that he’s there for her, no matter what, and grabs her hand. Lucia thanks him and asks if they can return to the house. She gets up but nearly falls and Roman sits her back down. Lucia tells him that everything is spinning. Roman tells her to wait until she feels better.
Marcelo arrives at his apartment’s courtyard and finds Magdalena waiting for him. She begs him not to give up on Lucia but Marcelo tells her that he’s tried and she’s not budging. Magdalena begs him to have patience and she doesn’t blame him for what happened to Alonso. Marcelo thanks her but tells her that he lit the fire. Magdalena thinks that Alonso was bound to find out eventually and it was not right for him to be in the dark about Rebeca. Marcelo tells her that, whoever had to find out, did but he’s not sure how his mother or Nora will if they ever found out. Magdalena assures him that she won’t tell them and then begs him once again to not give up on Lucia. Marcelo tells her that she has already found someone new to support her. Magdalena asks him what he’s talking about.
Roman asks Lucia if she feels better and Nora explains that Lucia almost fainted in the morning too. Roman asks Nora to bring her some lemon or orange water with sugar and some food. Nora leaves and finds Rebeca, who asks where she’s going, in the hallway. Nora tells her that she’s going to get some food and water for Lucia and leaves Rebeca to listen in on Roman and Lucia’s conversation. Lucia tries to get up but Roman suggests she stay in bed. Lucia tells him that Nora is going to bring something to eat and it will be easier to eat at the table. Roman then asks her if there is a possibility that she could be pregnant. Outside, Rebeca is shocked to hear his question. Roman tells Lucia that he’s only asking to see if there’s a possibility that she’s expecting Marcelo’s child…
