SATURDAY UPDATE ON LIES OF THE HEART EPISODE 461 - 462
At Urmi’s residence, Shaurya and Urmi discuss as to how Jamdar could stoop so low to ruin Diya’s life so bitterly. Diya, passing by overhears this and stops to hear more. He feels guilty that due to the fact that Diya covered his son’s case for him, she had to face such a tragedy. Urmi assures him that he shouldn't blame himself, as she only got the truth for the newspaper and nothing else, and she is no way deserving of what happened to her. They are tensed that they stand without any solid evidence or testimony to support Diya's accusation against the rapists and stand the risk of the case slipping out of their hands tomorrow. Shaurya swear that he won't let that happen at any cost, as he would ensure that Diya gets her well deserved justice. He begins to leave, when she ( Urmi ) calls him from behind and tells him that he has been a good son, and she feels proud to be his mother, for the way he has matured in this case, and how her upbringing has been so good. He says that he would do anything and that he has to get Diya justice now. Diya hears this tensedly. The next morning, Shaurya comes down with a heavy head and asks for coffee from Rani, and Anirudh finds him stressed. He asks him if he didn't sleep well. He says that he didn't. Just then, Urmi comes down distressed, saying that she can't trace Diya anywhere as she has check everywhere. They are tensed. Damini casually comments that she must be out with someone, as she has a tendency and a past record of going out without telling anyone. They eye her angrily. She then continues to comment that she hopes that Diya isn't dead. Shaurya finally speaks up to his grandma and asks her to not say such things. From the balcony, Sandhya asks Shaurya to switch the Tv on as Diya is giving a statement. They hear Diya’s statements, whereby she starts a social media campaign to try to gather more evidence against Jamdar as she identifies herself, and then says that she was gangraped, but instead of getting her rapists punished, she has to see them being out on bail, just because she doesn't have any evidence to prove that they committed the heinous crime. She says that she has been a victim of this inhuman torture, just like millions of women in the country, who face this but are silenced by the pressures of the society and hence no-one wants to come out of the closet about this. She says that they all must be boggled as to why is she calling this press conference and adds that the reason is that she has no-one to turn to now, as her final hearing is tomorrow, and if she doesn't produce any evdience tomorrow, then she will be denies justice even after being the victim of such a grave crime. She adds that what happened with her, wasn't a tragedy but a planned conspiracy, that the famous business tycoon did to avenge for what she did to his son, by putting him behind bars for what crime he had committed. She says that being a journalist and Tv reporter she has always taken the onus, of bringing the truth to the audience for all these years, but today she has to get to the truth, and she demands for their help in achieving it, as she says that if they have anything that they think can help with her case, then she gives a number they can contact her on. She says that if her steps stop tomorrow in the court, she would turn back to see if the nation suppports her or not, as she is the nations’s daughter, looking at them for a win, without having any witness or evidence. She says that if she loses tomorrow, then it would be the loss of every child of India, and that they should get rid of evils like Jamdar, who defame India. She continues with her statements, and the media instantly gets to coveraging it. It generates mass support and movement, as Diya reaches out to the common man. Shaurya, Urmi and Anirudh watch as the media covers many different kinds of people and opinions. As Diya comes outside the house, Jamdar too arrives in his car. He gets out and stops her. Jamdar asks how dare she go public against him. She asks him if he got so scared that he had to come here and that she is out for justice. He says that she isn't strong enough to support the nation, as she had just one witness and that's gone too, and hence her defeat tomorrow is certain too. He further tells her that she is finished. She says that it's good that he got her rid of Karan. He says that he feel pity for her, as her story is over. She replied that it's just started, as she would now fight for justice, that's a right for women, which is denied to them, and people like them consider it their birthright, and after that, lowlifes like him will think a thousand times before doing anything like this. He taunts her if the penal code will actually pay attention to one of the thousand cases like hers. She says that it would create a difference, as the nation is with her. He says that all are her cowards as no-one stands against him. She says that she is out along with his evil intentions. He asks her to shush. She says that this is what she has to see, whether she gets justice, as they both are here. He gets enraged, and almost raises his hand to slap her. She asks what is he waiting for and instigates him to slap her, as if she as much as gets a scratch, then he will be behind bars to join his son. He says that he is warning her, as she is being unpractically gutsy. She says that she wants to see his daring in every girl. He says that within 24 hours she would be over. She says that it's enough to bare the truth. He says it won't happen. She reminds him of Mahabharat, where truth prevailed over, and asks him to wait and watch in her case too. He is in a rage. She moves past him and walks inside. Later, in the night, they are all tensed that there hasn't been any development and no calls have come so far for Diya’s evidentiary support. Sandhya says that she wishes and prays fervently that Diya’s attempt doesn't go in vain. Damini taunts them that they are idiots, to have the hope that something will happen and discourages them all saying that Diya has no chances to win the case, as Jamdar is a very big and influential person and there’s no way he would lose the case. All are tensed. Diya stands upto her and says that the biggest influence is that of God, who will be by their side since they are right. She adds that she is sure that the goddess won't disappoint her, and a miracle will surely happen. Just then the doorbell rings and Rani opens the door. They are puzzled. A person comes in saying that he wants to meet Diya Tiwari. They are boggled. Rani lets them in. The person tells Diya that in the case tomorrow, his help might come handy in winning or losing the case. They rush to him, and Shaurya asks what's he trying to say. He calls his mother and when she walks in, Diya identifies her as her family doctor who treated her right after the assault and they exchange greetings. She asks Diya how is she. Damini sits tensedly. The doctor says that after watching her conference, she couldn't stop herself from coming here. Diya asks if she knows something. The doctor says that she treated Diya after she came in. Urmi asks why didn't she force them for medical examination, after knowing that she was gangraped. The doctor explain that she tried to insist, but her parents were dead against it, and then she didnt want unnecessary hassles. Urmi asks if she knows that due to her negligence, her license could be cancelled. She confesses that without the knowledge of Diya’s parents, she secretly performed a medical check up done on Diya. They are shocked, while Diya is overwhelmed. The doctor says that she stayed quiet, but did get the examination done. Urmi says that she must be having reports too to confirm the same. The doctor gets them from the bag and gives them to Urmi. Shaurya and Diya are pleasantly surprised and thrilled to have the evidence. He asks his mother if this is what they need. They are emotionally overwhelmed as Urmi complies. They thank the doctor profusely, while she adds that she will come to the court too to witness for her tomorrow. Diya thanks her. Urmi is assured that their hopes will soar high tomorrow, and Diya will get her well deserved justice. The next morning, all are ready for the final hearing of the case. Sandhya wishes Diya all the best, and says that she is sure that she will win today, as the lord is with her today. Diya thanks her. As they are about to leave, Damini stops her, while they are boggled, to see her with an arti thali. She asks Diya if she will go like this only. Anirudh and others are shocked at this sudden change of behaviour, and comment on this turnover. Damini says that she too has prayed that Diya wins the case. Anirudh and Urmi eye Damini tensedly. She says that if she wins, then Diya will move out of the tragedy and it's horrific nightmares, and the suffocation of the case, and then can move on in her life, and also move out of her house, so that they too can move on with their lives. She says that once she lives, they can live too. Anirudh and Urmi are tensed. Diya feels mortified. Damini asks about Shaurya taunting him, as her saviour and her lifetime companion. Urmi tersely replies that he has already gone to pick up the doctor. She asks Diya to come along and they leave while Damini’s fuming. At Dr. Veena’s residence, as Shaurya waits outside the doctor'shouse to pick her up, he finds that no-one is responding, and the door is left ajar. He gets tensed and comes inside trying to search for her. He is shocked to find the house in a dishevelled state. He understands that Jamdar knows, and that this is his work only. At Jamdar’s residence, while the Jagrata is going on downstairs, Jamdar’s men capture the doctor, and he warns her not to even try to run, as she would lose her life, and she would be freed once the case’s hearing is over. His men tie her up in a chair, so that she can't scream. Outside, Shaurya arrives at Jamdar’s house, and he amusingly asks Shaurya to come. He asks for the doctor, while Jamdar continues to take the lord’s name. He asks him to stop the pretense, and asks where the doctor is. Jamdar says that he isn't lying, and that she must be in the hospital. He asks Jamdar to stop this drama. Jamdar reminds him that he is in the lord’s place, and asks him to lower his voice, as he still doesn't know the power of Jamdar, and then asks his men to throw him out, and not let him in again. He taunts Shaurya and goes inside. Shaurya is taken out, as he is shocked and tensed what to do. Meanwhile, the doctor somehow manages to take the duct tape off her face, and then tries to untie her ropes, praying to the lord, that she has to save Diya somehow, as she would be ashamed if she isn't able to help her today. Shaurya too prays that he has less time left, and waits for the goddess’ signal, and wonders where the doctor is. She is finally able to set herself free, and tries to look through the window, if anyone can free her. She finds Shaurya standing right below on the ground. She screams for him, but Jamdar’s men gag her yet again and hold her back. He calls the doctor, and she tries to receive the call. The phone falls in the scuffle, right at the place of the Jagrata. Shaurya hears the sound, and understands that she is captive inside the house, from the noise. He rushes back yet again but thinks that the security is tight here and tries to get through the back door. He then eyes a saree and gets an idea. Indiscreetly inside the saree, Shaurya makes his way through the crowd, and then stealthily goes to the first floor, and starts checking all the rooms one by one, while his men are on guard. They see a saree clad person and assume it's a woman and walk off. He continues his quest for the doctor one room after the other. Finally, he gets to the doctor, and finds her tied in ropes. The doctor is relieved to see him as he unties her, and then asks her to change her saree giving an alternative. He waits outside while she changes, praying to the lord that they shouldn't be late, as if that happens, Diya won't get justice ever. As the doctor comes out, she thanks him, and he says that he should tell her that. He explains that they will have to make their way through the crowd again. Jamdar’s wife asks him to get the Shagun for the puja. He goes up and is confronts with the two ladies with veil hiding their faces. He presumes that they are his aunts from the village, and asks them to go down for the arti. They nod their heads in compliance. He rushes down for the puja. Shaurya tries to make his way out, through the crowd, along with the doctor. Jamdar finds him walking out suspiciously in the saree along with someone else. He notices that the first lady is in boots. He asks them to stop, just as they are about to leave the house. Shaurya and the doctor who have covered their faces under the veil are tensed that their secret might be up. Jamdar is highly suspicious. He asks the guards to take off their veil and is shocked to find Shaurya and the doctor inside the saree. The men point their revolvers at them, while Jamdar is furious. Shaurya says that he is sure that the lord has got them here, and they will leave from here too, to give the testimony in court. Jamdar takes the doctor, while Shaurya is shocked. Shaurya asks him to have some shame, while he shamelessly asks him to leave, before he kills the doctor, as he can go to any lengths for his son. She pleads to Shaurya, and he turns to go but then Shaurya suddenly nabs his son, and then puts the revolver on the head of his son, and bargains for the doctor to be allowed to go. Jamdar says that he will have to pay for it, while Shaurya keeps threatening him to let the doctor go. Out of love for his son, Jamdar allows the doctor to go to Shaurya, and at gunpoint, he leaves, throwing his son back that he falls on the idol’s feet. Jamdar starts shooting, but they escape by then. But in the bid to shoot, the goddess’s idol falls and the weapon in her hand, stabs his son right across the chest, and he dies instantly. He goes into a state of shock, while the mother is distraught. Jamdar blindly fires unable to believe it. The environment instantly turns into grief. In Court, Urmi and Diya arrive in the court. Urmi asks her to wait, so that she goes and asks the assistant about the medical reports. Urmi leaves. Nigam comes with his clients, and finds Diya. He greets her tauntingly, and adds that she is looking too hot, in the media, asking what good did it do, since her efforts went in vain, and only more predators will come for her. Diya asks why is he so worried. Nigam says that he has a daughter too, and then adds that the rapists are good men and she should find her prospective suitor in them only. Unperturbed, she says that it isn't a bad idea, but she isn't interested, as she doesn't deserve such good people, as she has been assault, and hence they are as noble as him, and that he should choose one of them for his daughter or better still marry her off to all three of them. Nigam is about to slap her, when she holds his hand and asks him to stop. She asks him to take his hypocritical nature and face to his daughter, so that she also knows who the father is. She lets go of his hand and storms inside, while Nigam fumes. He then decides to insult her in the court. Inside the courtroom, the judge asks the defense lawyer to start the proceedings. Urmi begins by talking about how Diya’s case has become the biggest case of the nation, giving the girls all over the country hope for justice. She points out to the court that Karan misled the court, since he is sold out. They are all shocked. Nigam says that she is lying. Urmi objects. He asks her to present evidence then, and not just object. She says that she has evidence as she knows the judge wants it. She asks for a CD to be played. All are tensed, especially Karan and Nigam along with the lawyers. Karan is aghast as the recording is played of his confession to his mother. He is scared. Nigam is tensed. Urmi points out that Karan himself says that he changed the statement for his profit and benefit, and says that the name of Karan’s sponsor is not known in the video, but they would tell who that person is, as it's none other than the city’s most famous business tycoon, Jamdar, who not only bought Karan, but also caused this tragedy with Diya. Nigam stands up and says that Urmi can come tomorrow and say that the judge is also sold. The judge asks Urmi to clarify. Urmi says that the incident with Diya isn't an accident, but a planned conspiracy against her, to avenge that she had put his son behind bars for a hit and run case, and then hired the goons to assault Diya and then discourage Diya at every point whenever she stood to fight the case. Nigam taunts Urmi that this is the first case of her, who probably had been watching serials and is therefore so dramatic. The judge asks him to respect women in the court, and he apologises and says that how can a fabricated CD arrive at the last hearing suddenly to distract the court, and that it still doesn't prove that his clients are the rapists. Urmi says that she will prove this today too, and she has evidence for that too. Nigam and the criminals are shocked. Urmi presents the medical reports, that this is the report, and that's Diya’s on the day of the assault. Nigam asks how could the report come so suddenly, and asks what's going on, as they all know Diya’s test happened after seven days. Urmi asks him to let her speak and finish her statement. He sits tensedly. Urmi explains everything, that Diya’s family doctor had told them the earlier night that she secretly performed a medical check up on her and how they procured the report. Nigam says that Urmi is just pulling up one vague report after the other, and asks her to present truthful evidences. He asks why is she presenting the report now, and not earlier. Urmi is tensed as to why the doctor didn't come. She tells the judge that the report was with her only, but she didn't present it. He asks what's going on and what's she trying to prove. She reminds him for the last time to let her finish. The judge asks Nigam to sit. Urmi thanks the judge, saying that the report was with her only, as she didn't want Diya’s parents to know of it, as then she would be infamous in the society, and also that she didn't want to get involved in court hearings. But when she saw Diya’s appeal on Tv, then being a good samaritan, she presented the report, that proves that these are the rapists, as per the DNA confirmation of their samples, and the sampels found on Diya and her clothes. Nigam says that they assume his clients are the criminals, and they are all here, and asks where is this samaritan doctor that Urmi is talking about. She says that she will just come, as she might be stuck somewhere, and requests for sometime. Nigam asks them not to waste time. She pleads them to wait so that, Diya might get justice, or else many girls like Diya will lose their hope on the indian judicial system forever, if these heinous criminals are aquitted today. The judge grants Urmi’s appeal. They all wait tensedly for the doctor to arrive. Nigam is tensed too and keeps hinting that they shouldn't wait anymore. Urmi apologises for the delay, and asks for some more time. Nigam says that they have wasted enough time, and can't afford anymore. Urmi says that she might be stuck. Nigam asks her to stop abricating stories. The judge announces for the doctor to be present. Diya and Urmi are tensed not seeing them. Nigam asks Urmi to give up now, as she has lost the case, and let go of her whim. Urmi prays to the lord with tears in her eyes, hoping for a miracle. Just then, the doctor announces her arrival, shocking Nigam and the rapists, while Urmi, Diya and Anirudh are releived. Shaurya is rested too that he didn't get too late. They all are emotionally overwhelmed as the judge asks the doctor to take her place in the witness box. She complies. Urmi asks her why she got so late. The doctor exposes her kidnapping by Jamdar’s men, and Urmi looks at her and then Shaurya in shock. Urmi presents the facts to the judge, that Jamdar is the mastermind, as he didn't want the doctor to arrive in the court. Karan sits tensedly. Urmi asks the doctor to tell everything right from the day of the rape. The doctor complies, as they all hear intently and appalled. Nigam and the clients are appalled. Urmi says that the facts are out now, and the evidences and the rapists stand before him, and pleads to the court to give strict punishment to the criminals and the mastermind behind this. Nigam is tensed. All wait in anticipation for the the judge’s decision. He finally speaks up saying that keeping in mind both the accounts, they find the accused guilty of Diya’s assault, and convicting them sentences them to seven years of rigorous imprisonment. He also punishes Karan for misleading the court with false evidence. Urmi is satisfied. He continues that he orders the police to take Jamdar in custody too. Diya and urmi are overwhelmed with elation. The judge adjourns the case, while the entire court claps. Nigam stands defeated. Shaurya and Anirudh are happy, while Diya and Urmi are in tears. Karan is shocked. Nigam walks out. The police nabs the rapists and Karan, who eyes Diya angrily. Diya comes to Urmi, and faces her, as tears strike down both their faces, as they hug each other. Anirudh blesses them both, while Diya thanks Urmi. Urmi hugs Shaurya too, who is happy. At Urmi’s residence, as diya comes back, Damini confronts her with her friends of the society, as they have a get together and are bantering amongst themselves. They are elated. Sandhya rushes to them and congratulates them immensely. The ladies ask if this is Diya, and Urmi announces her as the brave girl. They taunt that she might have become famous, but now she didn't really get anything, as she has lost all chances of a marriage now, and the convicted would be out in sometime and gallivant around yet again. Urmi says that Diya got her respect back again, by winning the case today. One of them asks who will make Diya her daughter-in-law.Shaurya taunts why is she so interested in her marriage. damini asks him to talk politely. Anirudh asks her to teach manners to her friends first, who dont know what to speak. Damini asks him to get Diya’s respect back then. He says that they have done it. Damini taunts them that they are in the whim, that Diya’s life will normalise now, and that she will start a quest right now. Damini says that she stands here in front of the ladies asking if they would make Diya the daughter-in-law of their house. She asks each of them tauntingly if they would get their sons married to Diya. They all look down upon Diya with disgust, saying that they would never dream of doing so, even if their sons were handicapped and challenged, they wouldn't dream of it, as they will get better options than a used girl. Diya is appalled and distraught, as Damini confronts her saying that even a handicapped guy is nomore a prospective suitor for her anymore. She taunst her and says that she will try again, if there is any mother who would get her son married to Diya, and if there is, she should come in front. Damini comments to her that she is not left marriageable after what happened to her. Urmi finally stands to her and says that there’s a mother who has a relation of her son for Diya. She comes to her, and confronts Damini, saying that she, Urmi Ishaan Sinha, declares that Diya will be her daughter-in-law, and asks if she heard it. Sandhya and Anirudh are boggled out of their wits. She says that she has decided that she wil get Diya and Shaurya married, shocking both of them, while Damini is in a rage.
